Glassblowing will be the hot new thing at Albany Museum of Art ChalkFest on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022, in downtown Albany.
Art students from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus will demonstrate their glassblowing skills as they form glass art objects by inflating molten glass into a bubble with the aid of a blowpipe. The glassblowing demonstration area is the latest art addition to the 5th annual festival. Presented by Publix, AMA ChalkFest will be 10 am-5 pm on South Front Street and at Veterans Park Amphitheatre. Admission is free for everyone.

Heroes is the theme for the 5th annual Albany Museum of Art ChalkFest festival, which returns to downtown Albany on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022.
This year’s festival will be at a new downtown location—the 200 block of South Front Street at the Albany Civic Center, where AMA ChalkFest will incorporate the Veterans Park Amphitheater and grounds. Previously, ChalkFest has been held in the 100 block of Pine Avenue.

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, AMA ChalkFest will bring back to downtown Albany professional and amateur chalk artists, tents with craft beers and other libations, live music, kids and family activities, food trucks, vendors and more.

Albany Museum of Art ChalkFest on Saturday, Nov 13, 2021 will be a communitywide event, and the call is out for community artists of all ages to participate in five amateur chalk artist categories.
“The big news this year is there are absolutely no fees to participate,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “Thanks to our Amateur and School Chalk Blocks sponsor Smile Doctors, there is no cost to enter any of the five amateur categories—Adult, Adult Students, Teens, Youth, and School Teams.”
